Your furnace may have a permanent filter,
or a disposable filter. If you have a permanent filter then you
will need to clean it the way that the manufacturer recommends.
A disposable filter needs to be replaces, which is quite easy.
Either way, you need to know how to get into your furnace and
get to your filter. Before doing any type of maintenance to your
furnace, you should turn the power off to the furnace. Do this
at your circuit breaker box. Now go to the furnace and open up
the cover in the front of it. You will need to look for a door
or compartment marked 'filter'.
